Summary

Periksa is a tool. The inspections, the judgements and the reports are the inspector's own work, and they are stored on the inspector's device. Periksa Pro is a subscription, and the payment is taken by Apple or Google, never by us. If you lose your device, we cannot recover what was on it, because we hold no copy.

1. What Periksa is

Periksa is a tool for recording property defects and producing an inspection report. It is used by the person carrying out the inspection. It is provided by Faiz Zakaria, publishing Periksa under the brand name Rintova, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Periksa does not inspect anything and does not decide anything. All findings, severity ratings, photographs and report text are entered by the inspector using it. Periksa formats and stores their work.

2. What Periksa is not

It is not a professional opinion about a property.
It is not a guarantee or warranty of a property's condition.
It is not a substitute for a qualified engineer, architect, electrician or any other licensed professional.
Reports produced with Periksa do not carry our endorsement. They are the inspector's own document.

If you receive a Periksa report as a homeowner, the person to raise questions with is the inspector who wrote it.

3. Ownership of your work

Everything you put into Periksa is yours, including inspections, photographs, customer details, your logo and the reports you produce. We claim no ownership of it and no licence to use it.

We also cannot see it. Periksa stores it on your device and does not send it to us. See the Privacy Policy.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree that you will:

keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose (see section 6);
have the right to photograph the properties you inspect, and to hold the personal information of the customers you enter;
not present Periksa's output as anything other than your own work;
not use Periksa for anything unlawful.

5. Paying for Periksa

Periksa is free to download. Your first real inspection is free: you record it in full and read the whole report on screen. It does not produce a PDF file. Client-ready PDF reports, and any inspection after your first, need Periksa Pro.

There is one free inspection per email address. Claiming it needs an account. Your existing account keeps its free inspection marked as used, and that does not change for as long as the account exists. If you delete the account, a one-way record stays until 24 months after the free inspection was used, to prevent the same email claiming again straight away. After that, a new account using that email may be eligible for a free inspection. This is set out in full in section 7 of the Privacy Policy. Using a different email address is not a breach of these terms, but it is not something we support or guarantee.

Periksa Pro is a subscription, available monthly or yearly.

It renews automatically through your Apple or Google account unless you cancel it, which you can do at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep access to the end of the period you have already paid for.
The payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see your card.
The subscription is tied to the Apple ID or Google account used to buy it, and can be restored on another device signed in to that same account, using "Restore purchase" in the app.
Apple and Google are separate. A subscription bought on an iPhone does not carry across to an Android phone.
Refunds are handled entirely by Apple or Google, under their own policies. We cannot issue or refuse one.
If your subscription ends because you cancelled, a payment failed or a purchase was refunded, nothing on your device is deleted. Your inspections, photographs and on-screen report previews stay on your phone. Starting a new inspection and producing new client-ready PDF reports need an active subscription.

6. Backups and losing your work

Periksa keeps your inspections on your device and has no cloud copy of them. This means:

If you lose your device, break it or delete the app, your inspections are gone unless your own device backup includes the app's data. We hold no copy, so we cannot recover them.

Send each report to your customer as soon as you finish it, so the finished work is off the phone.

7. No warranty

Periksa is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

8. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, we are not liable for:

any loss of data, inspections or photographs;
any loss of business, profit, contracts or reputation;
any dispute between you and your customer, or between your customer and a developer or contractor;
any decision anyone takes on the strength of a report produced with Periksa.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Periksa.

9. Changes

We may update Periksa and these terms. Material changes will be noted here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use Periksa after a change means you accept it.

10. Ending

You may stop using Periksa at any time and delete it. We may end your right to use it if you breach these terms. Any subscription period you have already paid for is not refunded by us in that case. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the Malaysian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
