Periksa by Rintova

Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 August 2026

The short version

Your inspection work never leaves your phone. Periksa has no cloud for your inspections, no analytics and no tracking, and we cannot see your customers, your photographs or your reports.

One thing is different from before: Periksa now has an optional account. If you claim your free inspection, you sign in with your email address, and we store that address and the fact that your free inspection has been used — nothing else. If you never create an account, we hold nothing about you at all. There is one free inspection per email address, and section 7 explains exactly what is deleted when you delete your account and what small, scrambled record is kept for a limited time.

1. Who this policy is from

Periksa ("the app") is provided by Faiz Zakaria ("we", "us"), publishing Periksa under the brand name Rintova, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

If you have a question about this policy, contact us at support@rintova.com.

2. What the app stores on your phone only

Periksa is an inspection tool. To do its job it stores the following on your device only:

Your details, which you enter yourself

Your inspection work

None of this is transmitted to us or to anyone else. There is no cloud backup: your inspection work exists only on your phone.

3. What we collect: your account, and nothing more

If you sign in to claim your free inspection, we collect and keep on our server:

That is the complete list. We use it to sign you in, to keep the free inspection to one per email address, and for nothing else. We do not send marketing email.

Your inspection work: never.

We never see your inspections, and the account cannot back them up — the server has no way to receive them.

An account is optional. You can explore the whole app through the sample inspection without one, and a paid subscription does not need one either — your subscription lives with Apple or Google, not with us.

Signing in works by emailed code. There is no password to create or leak. When you sign in, our email provider sends a one-time code to your address; the code expires within the hour.

We still have no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party tracking software of any kind.

4. Permissions the app asks for, and why

Camera — so you can photograph a defect while inspecting. Photographs are saved on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere.

Photo library — only if you choose to attach a photograph you have already taken, or to save report photographs back to your own library. The app reads the single images you pick. It does not scan, index or read your library.

You can refuse either permission. The app will tell you plainly what is unavailable and keep working.

Periksa does not request your location, contacts, microphone, calendar, health data or advertising identifier.

5. When information leaves your device

Your inspection work: only when you choose to send it. When you produce a report and use Send, Periksa creates a PDF on your device and hands it to your phone's own sharing screen. You decide where it goes: WhatsApp, email, Files, AirDrop, or anywhere else. From that point the report is handled by whichever service you chose, under that company's own privacy policy, not ours. We are not a party to that transfer and we never receive a copy.

Your email address: only when you sign in. Signing in sends your email address to our sign-in service so it can send you the code and hold your account.

Payment: never through us. Subscriptions are bought from Apple or Google inside their own payment systems. We never see your card, your bank, or your billing address.

Everything the app transmits is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).

6. The services behind the account

Two companies process your email address on our behalf, and neither may use it for their own purposes:

Neither receives your inspection work — there is no route by which they could. Beyond these two, Periksa uses no third-party services that touch your data: no advertising partners, no analytics providers, no cloud storage for your inspections.

7. Backups, loss and deletion

Periksa does not back your inspection data up to any cloud service. If your device is lost, replaced or wiped, your inspection work is gone. The app says so plainly, and your account does not change this: it cannot restore your work, because it never had it.

Depending on your own phone settings, your device backup (for example iCloud Backup) may include the app's data. That backup is controlled by you and by Apple or Google, under their privacy policies, not ours.

Deleting your account. In the app: Settings → Your Periksa account → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate: your account, your email address and your sign-in history are erased from our systems. If you cannot use the app, email support@rintova.com from the address you signed up with and we will do the same within 30 days.

One small record survives account deletion, for a limited time. To keep the free inspection to one per email address, we keep a scrambled, one-way code derived from your email address, with the date your free inspection was used. It cannot be turned back into your address, it is stored apart from any account, it is not linked to your account or to any name, device or location, and it is used for exactly one thing: recognising, if that same address signs up again, that its free inspection has already been used.

How long it is kept, and what happens then. Your existing account keeps its free inspection marked as used. If you delete the account, we keep a limited one-way trial record for up to 24 months to prevent the same email immediately claiming again. After that retention period ends, a newly created account using that email may be eligible for a free inspection. The record itself is erased by a clean-up that runs every week, so it is held for at most 24 months and 7 days.

To be exact about the two different things there: an account that has used its free inspection never gets another one, for as long as that account exists — no waiting period changes that. The 24 months applies only to a new account created later on an address whose old account was deleted.

If you delete your account without ever using the free inspection, nothing at all is kept: this record is only ever created when a free inspection is used.

The honest limit: this keeps one free inspection per email address, not per person. Somebody using a different address can be given another free inspection, and we do not attempt to identify people across addresses.

Deleting your inspection work is separate, because we never had it:

Deleting your account does not delete the work on your phone, and deleting the work on your phone does not delete your account.

8. Children

Periksa is a tool for professional property inspectors. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly hold any information about children.

9. Security

On your phone, your information is protected by your device's own security: your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and the operating system's app sandbox.

On our side, the account database is protected by per-account access rules — each signed-in account can read only its own record — and everything in transit is encrypted. The account holds so little on purpose: what a server never has, a breach can never spill. The safety of your inspection work still depends on the safety of your phone; keep a passcode on it, and send finished reports promptly so completed work is not held in only one place.

10. Your rights

Under the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010, and comparable laws elsewhere, you have rights over personal data held about you — to see it, to correct it, and to have it erased. Everything we hold about you is listed in section 3, the app shows it to you on the Account screen, and the deletion route in section 7 erases it. The one exception is the scrambled trial record described in section 7, which we keep for the limited period stated there to prevent repeated free-trial claims; it holds no address, name or account. For anything else, write to support@rintova.com.

Your inspection work is under your own control on your own device, and your customers' personal data in it is your responsibility as the inspector who collected it.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the date at the top will change. If a future version of the app adds anything new that sends data off your device — cloud backup, for example — this policy will be updated before that feature is released, and the app will tell you.
